With an ENORMOUS thanks to all our runners, cheerers and donors - the LazyboysAgainstLeukemia campaign, jointly with the Geneva Run Club, today logged its 40,000th km!
After 18 long weeks of logging miles, spreading the word, and signing up to the Bone Marrow registry through Marrow.ch, we have not only hit our running target, but have almost tripled our original fundraising target of 4,000CHF.
While we didn't reach our target in time for the iconic Escalade race, we're immensely grateful to all those runners who have helped us get here. Our Strava club now boasts over 134 members, and we'd like to thank every single one of you.
This has been an amazing achievement thanks to all those who've joined us on this incredible journey, and who've been affected by the story of Daniel.
As some of you may also know, in November last year, a compatible donor was found for Daniel, and he underwent a much needed bone marrow transplant on 30 November. The intervention went well, and he has now returned home where he will need to concentrate on his recovery for the next six months before returning to school.
We couldn't have hoped for a better outcome, and are so proud of everyone who contributed to show their support for Daniel and his family.
All the funds raised will now be passed on to Transfusion CRS Suisse who use the entirety of the donations to support the costs of donor registrations and lab tests. Tests cost 140 CHF per person, so every donation received helps finance new donors and offers a chance to those with leukemia to receive treatment.
1,000CHF will help finance up to 15 new subscriptions to the register. Each new subscription helps improve the chances of finding the right donor for a patient.

With heartfelt thanks again to all of you, you are amazing.
